Based on the hymn composed by Phillip Nicolai in the late 1500's. Sleeper's Wake is the subject of three of the 140 Cantata's Seven Movements. The work was originally arranged for two altos and bass flute and can be performed by almost any combination of flutes. This arrangement by Melicharek, is particularly effective when performed as a choir piece featuring the lower pitched flutes. Arranged for; 2 C Flutes & Alto Flute, or C Flute, Alto Flute & Bass Flute, or 2 Alto Flutes & Bass Flute.
